The Territory Construction Association (TCA) presented its annual Construction Awards at a dinner in Darwin on Friday 19 August 2005.
The ATRF's builders, Barclay Mowlem Construction Limited (BMCL), had nominated the ATRF project for the category "Commercial Construction $3-10m" category. The organisers described the field as the biggest and highest quality yet seen in the Territory.
The ATRF project was successful in gaining for BMCL the top industry award in the nominated category, "Commercial Construction $3-10m".
The ATRF project was also successful in gaining for BMCL an award, across all award categories, for "Excellence in Building for the NT Climate".
The ATRF project had yet further success gaining for BMCL the highly coveted "President's Award". This is awarded for the "Most Outstanding Project in all Categories".
The ATRF project is automatically entered in these categories in the National Construction Awards.
The awards provide a special and encouraging acknowledgement in ATRF's objective to establish itself as a world-class research facility.
